Suan Sri Rue Du Residential Hall

 
This gingerbread confection was originally a residence of Queen Saovabha and Princess Valaya Alongkorn, the present king's aunt. The much-beloved Princess Mother also lived here when she was a young girl.

The building now displays gifts and art objects presented to His Majesty King Bhumibol on the occasion of his 50^th anniversary of his accession to the throne in 1996. These include gifts from the Thai people as well as from foreign heads of state. President Clinton sent a large book of photographs of jazz greats, many of whom were also friends of the king.

The building also houses a small black and silver alter dedicated to the late Princess Mother.

In th gardens of Suan Sri Rue Du residential hall is a small Chinese style pagoda.
