Bangkok Airport Transfers

Suvarnabhumi International Airport is located some distance from the center of town. You have several options for getting into town:

Airport Bus
The airport operates four special express buses to key 'budget traveler' destinations. The four routes are as follows:
  1. To Silom Road
  2. Khao San
  3. Sukhumvit Road to Central World
  4. Hua Lampong rail station via Victory Monument
The fare for the Airport Bus is a flat 150 Baht (3.90 USD)
Taxi
Metered taxis are a very cheap and easy way to get to your hotel. There's a public taxi queue counter outside on the lowest level of the airport terminal (one level below arrivals). You pay a 50 Baht (1.30 USD) surcharge on the metered amount when taking a taxi from the airport.
Airport Limo
The Airports Authority also runs its own taxi service, operated from its own counter just outside customs. The Airport taxis use bigger, 'nicer' cars than regular taxis and have a fixed rate depending on what part of town you're going to. It's generally about double what you would pay a metered taxi.
Airport Link
The airport link train service connects the airport to the City Terminal in the city. However, unless you're staying close to the City Terminal or one of the other stations, the cost of the train plus the cost of a taxi from the terminal to your hotel could easily add up to more than the cost of a taxi direct to your hotel. The Airport Link airport station is two levels below arrivals.

Under no circumstances should you accept a ride from any touts or "unofficial" taxi services. Real taxis have a red and white TAXI-METER sign on the roof. Airport Taxis have green license plates. Many people have been robbed by seemingly friendly people offering them a ride to "a good cheap hotel they know."

Airport Transfers Advance Booking

There's really no reason to book an airport transfer in advance, but if you're traveling with a group of three or more, with luggage, you may wish to book one of the folling services to ensure that a car or mini-van the right size is on hand:
